Summary/Objective

Responsible for quality and continuous improvement systems and programs. Will work within assigned operation on quality issues and problems and facilitate methods to remediate and prevent future occurrences. Will work with internal departments, suppliers and customers to resolve quality/ reliability issues. Will provide engineering support as required.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for quality and continuous improvement systems and programs.
  • Works within assigned operation on quality issues and problems and facilitates methods to remediate and prevent future occurrence of the issue.
  • Works with internal departments and suppliers to resolve quality/reliability issues.
  • Presents training activities to improve awareness and skill sets to support continuous improvement objectives.
  • Works closely with field service representatives on design/problem resolution.
  • Provides engineering support to the shop and field service as required.
  • Works safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Understands and supports company philosophies, goals and directions including ISO 9001 and 14001 policies and procedures.
  • Recommends improvements for products and processes.
  • Produces and maintains consistent quality of work.
  • Sets the department / area standards in areas of housekeeping, attendance and teamwork by example.
  • Communicates professionally, effectively and efficiently with all internal and external customers.
  • Trains employees and customers on the use and maintenance of product and/or processes.
  • Demonstrates personal leadership by actively participating in or leading problem solving continuous improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrates flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situations, priority changes or new assignments.

Minimum Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical. Five to seven years of /experience training in comparable position.

 

Technical requirements:

Proficiency in MS Excel, Powerpoint and Word required.

Work Environment:

  • Employee may be regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc.

Physical Demands:

  • May involve some repetitive motions
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
  • Do to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Must be available for OT/Weekends as needed

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical. Five to seven years of /experience training in comparable position.
